Welcome to the Brigade!

Bit by Bit Brigade (B4) is an unofficial Twitch team for streamers who are always trying to improve - bit by bit | founded by @ApricotSnaps, @ThemDemo, & @CrunchySunflower

Bit by Bit Brigade (B4) is an unofficial Twitch team that recognizes that small, consistent growth is a journey, and celebrates creators who are growing bit by bit.

1. Why did you create Bit by Bit Brigade?

We wanted to create an online space to connect like-minded streamers who have a passion for streaming, a drive to create safe spaces, and the desire to make genuine friendships and connections.

2. Why did you choose the name Bit by Bit Brigade?

Picking the name was actually the hardest part of creating the community! We chose Bit by Bit Brigade because we felt it was reflective of what we wanted to do as a community - building our communities and each other up, bit by bit.

3. What are the minimum expectations or requirements do you have for members of the team?

We do not have any CCV or follower requirements to join our team! We feel that numbers do not define a content creator and cannot be a good judgment of what we're looking for.For a list of expectations, please click the refer to the rules here.

4. What sets Bit by Bit Brigade apart from other teams and communities on Twitch?

The founders of Bit by Bit Brigade have chosen to curate the community with streamers that we feel match the vibe of what we're looking for.If you've taken a look at our application, you'll notice we ask a lot of intentional questions - this helps us ensure that we are finding the right people for the community. We want people that are interested in getting to know others beyond a Twitch chat!We also will be hosting occasional events such as raid trains, charity fundraisers, game showcases, and more!

5. How do you ensure that Bit by Bit Brigade remains as safe of a space as possible?

As streamers ourselves, we know how important it is to strive to create a safe space. We want to ensure our members feel that they can trust each other and us, and we hope no one ever has to worry about being harmed or triggered in Bit by Bit Brigade. Here's some of the measures we've taken to make our community as safe as possible!

  • At least one leader must have a good rapport with streamers invited to the community

  • Our application process is extensive - we want to weed out any bad actors before they even have the chance to harm the community

  • All members are placed on a trial before being fully accepted into the community. If we find that someone is not vibing or fit for Bit by Bit, this allows us to remove them before they are associated with us

  • We have multiple bots in place in our Discord server to ensure that we know what's happening within our community and can easily ban anyone who causes harm

  • The vent channel in our Discord has an extra step to be able to access it - you have to verify that you know how to post a spoiler message and that any triggering messages are spoilered and tagged appropriately.

CrunchySunflower
she/they

Hey frens, my name is CrunchySunflower! You can also call me Sable, I don't mind either way. I am one of the founders of Bit by Bit Brigade, also known as B4. I am in my late 20s living in the Northern part of Idaho, USA.I started my streaming journey in 2022, as a side hustle to make more money when I was living in Seattle, Washington. What had started out as an extra way to make a little money, quickly became my dream job. I knew after a few months of streaming that I wanted to become full time and sustainable someday. I am currently enrolled in college to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Business. I have multiple business avenues I strive to make sustainable, such as digital art commissions, tarot and oracle card readings, and Twitch streaming. My dad owned his own business when I was a child, and that has definitely influenced me to become a business owner today. The freedom to do what you want, when you want, and how you want to is incredibly liberating. I really cherish working for myself, it is single handedly one of the most gratifying experiences I have ever had. While making money and being your own boss is great and all, I think the best part of Twitch has been the community I have shared and built with dozens of people. We have created such a welcoming, inclusive, cozy spot to hang out in almost nightly. I met my three best friends for life on this platform. (Moon, Rune and Thundas. Yes I am name dropping you three!!!) My life would not be what it is now had I not met so many gorgeous, amazing and supportive people. Twitch has become my lifeline in so many ways. It's my social interaction, it's a part of my job, and it's my entertainment. What I Want To Achieve With B4: I have lead my own community for 2+ years now, as well as moderated in multiple other spaces. What I have learned from those experiences is that I wanted to create something I felt I have yet to find...a truly welcoming, encouraging and inclusive streaming community. A place where people can be themselves, make the content they are passionate about, do the things they love, and find a sense of belonging. Humans are meant to help one another, love one another and be around other humans. My hope with B4 is that we foster a supportive and collaborative environment where strong connections are forged, genuine friendships flourish and communities are built, bit by bit.

ApricotSnaps
she/her

Hi frens! My name is ApricotSnaps, and I am one of the founders of Bit by Bit Brigade (B4 from now on because I'm heccin lazy). Most people call me Apricot or April! I am in my mid-20s living in Loserana, USA! (That's Louisiana, but the loser version of it.)I started streaming in 2021 as a sort of challenge to myself - my boyfriend and I had watched a video of how difficult it was to grow as a streamer, so I wanted to see if I could do something on Twitch. Since then, I've evolved from a girl in college who didn't know what she was doing with her life, to a woman who is confident in herself and knows what she wants. Streaming has allowed me to learn how to speak my mind without fear of judgment. I've learned that there are some amazing people out there beyond the close mindedness of my location. And most importantly, I've learned to be myself, unapologetically.Gaming is not the most important part of my streams (I'm not very good at it, so it really cannot be lol). I think for me, my goal is to create a space where anyone can hang out - someone who may be in between meetings at work, someone who is gaming and needs some background noise, someone who needs a friend... I want my streams to be a place where people can go without worry of fear or judgment. I want to be the lounge of streams on Twitch. What I Want To Achieve With B4: As someone who has been a part of other communities before, my main goal is to create what is essentially a giant friend group. It's so easy to join a team where only the top people benefit, where there are a bunch of cliques, or where you can't find a space where you fit. With B4, I hope that no one feels left out - yes, there will never be a space where every single person likes each other, but I at least hope that we can all respect each other enough to get along and do something special - piece by piece, bit by bit.

ThemDemo
he/him

Greetings folks! I'm Demo, also one of the founders of Bit by Bit Brigade (B4)! I am in my early thirties and reside in the Central Illinois, USA region. My streaming journey started quite a long time ago. I made a Twitch account way back on Valentine's Day 2014... and mainly watched streams during college as entertainment while studying. For the longest time I wanted so badly to stream, but because of school and work obligations I always felt like I couldn't put proper effort into it. That all changed back in about 2017 (I can't remember exactly when) when I started up my first streams. That lasted a few months until I burnt myself out and stepped away for a long while. Then in January 2022 I decided to really give it a shot and see what all came from it, I've been streaming roughly 5 days a week since and I am so glad that I did.I have made so many connections with so many important people to me through streaming, like literally some of my best friends. Additionally, video games have been a MASSIVE part of my life (as I expect a lot of us feel). I can honestly say I would not be around if not for the outlet of video games and the passion that I have for them. So, it makes sense that I focus on them as much as I can during my streams. I intend to shine a light on games as much as I can, critically evaluate them as best I can, and provide a resource for folks who may not have the ability to experience them for themselves. What I Want To Achieve With B4: After some experiences both being a member of and somewhat leading a streamer community, there were quite a few things that I wanted to focus on here. First and foremost is being a resource to people, to be there to support them, lift them up, befriend them, and also be able to lean on them at times. I want this group to truly appreciate and grow with one another, and recognize that growth is always coming bit by bit!
